With vampires reaching saturation point in the media, film studios are now banking on the fairy tale. One such green-lit project is Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. 

Famke Janssen is about to play a witch, the main nemesis of the titular characters who may be portrayed by Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton. Hansel & Gretel would continue where the gingerbread house ruckus ended, depicting the fairy tale siblings as witch slayers in adulthood. 

Paramount could begin production on March 7.
