'Mom2': Stepmother Stigma

No matter how loving, selfless, or charitable they get, stepmothers always find themselves on the lower end  of society-at-large's appraisal. Think about it: "evil" and "stepmother" are probably staple compounds in your vocabulary. 

Chalk it up to years of stigmatization in fairy tales, novels, short stories, movies, TV shows, and pop discourse. Here's an interesting essay by author and breast cancer survivor Jude Callirgos on the prejudices faced by stepmothers like her. She proposes something in the end, one stepmothers might wish would catch on.
