'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' gets a move on with title announcement

The highly anticipated Netflix reboot of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" finally gets a title.

It will simply be named "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" after the macabre graphic novels written by "Riverdale" showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa with illustrations by Robert Hack.

The "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" books are not your customary Archie Comics spin-off revolving around the famous teenage sorceress of Greendale. This reimagining of Sabrina Spellman, to be played by "Mad Men's" Kiernan Shipka, traffics in truly diabolic forces and gruesome panels, in the vein of the "Afterlife with Archie" series also by Aguirre-Sacasa.

Eight issues are currently out of "Chilling" with the primary antagonist centered on Iona/Madam Satan. A version of the character, a teacher named Mary Wardell, will be portrayed on the Netflix show by "Doctor Who" alumna Michelle Gomez.

"The Lord of the Rings'" Miranda Otto has signed on as Aunt Zelda while "Wonder Woman" actress Lucy Davis is playing her sister Hilda. Ross Lynch will play Sabrina's love interest Harvey Kinkle.

Netflix teased the show as "tonally in the vein of 'Rosemary's Baby' and 'The Exorcist'" while the original Sabrina herself, Melissa Joan Hart, called it "more 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.'"

"One day, Sabrina's going to be the most powerful sorceress who's ever lived – Archie's equivalent of Doctor Strange – but right now, she's a 16-year-old girl who's figuring out who she wants to be and if she's going to prom or not," stated Aguirre-Sacasa.

So far, so good. We can't wait for witching hour to begin.
