How to Dress Like Regina George from Mean Girls

"Cautionary Women" is just another way of saying "Mean Girls." It would be remiss of this site not to pay tribute to the Queen Bee herself, the evil-in-human-form Regina George.

Many teen movie narratives since Heathers have relied on self-absorbed blondes to terrorize schoolyards. Mean Girls is no exception, but Regina is in unique territory (her name literally means "reigning queen"). Brought to life by Rachel McAdams (and Tina Fey's script), the empress of the Plastics spits out cutting one-liners like there's no tomorrow.

Be very afraid of her, not when she's in front of you, but when she's behind your back. Or on the phone, Ms. George's weapon of choice if you've seen how expertly she handles her three-way calls.

Think Regina is an awesome style icon? Get in loser, we're going shopping.

So, like, how do I dress like Regina George?

It's easy to forget that Mean Girls came out in 2004. That's how fetch fresh it still is.

However, there are some fashion signifiers that will remind you that this otherwise timeless flick was released in the early Aughts. One is the pleated micro mini-skirt, and Rachel rocked this so well with a pastel pink cardigan and fuschia pumps on the Mean Girls poster. That could have been the ugliest f-ing skirt you've ever seen a few years ago, but as with all things fashion, it's sneakily making a comeback nowadays. Get ready to see these skirts everywhere on Wednesdays soon.

The Plastics often paired their miniskirts with tank tops, and there's probably nothing more stylish than the one Janis Ian ripped where the nips should be. This is probably the most DIY Regina George Halloween you could improvise. For everything else, you just need a purple bra and shiny black miniskirt.

Another signature Regina tank top is the one emblazoned with the "A Little Bit Dramatic" print across it, perfect for your inner drama queen.

Regina is a fashion icon for all seasons. Let's not get started on the iconic Santa Claus ensemble that she donned for the Plastics' now-classic "Jingle Bell Rock" rendition.

And what did Regina George wear on Halloween? She totally boo'd those whores with her cutesy bunny ears, a sequined, silvery bodice, a pair of furry wrist cuffs, and white knee-high satin boots. Get the complete ensemble here or embellish what you already have with white faux fur.

Of course, these are just five of Regina George's looks. Like co-stars Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried, Rachel had at least 30 costume changes for the movie.

How to look like Regina George

Regina spits her lines with a glossy pout and pucker here and there. If you have a quality pink lip gloss, you're one step closer to looking like your best high school bully self.

It's hard to imagine that Rachel wore a wig as Regina for the movie—the actor is a natural brunette. Her hair was too short for the role at the time, so rather than wait for it to grow out, the hair and makeup team put her in some fetching mid-back-length blonde wigs. (Find one for you here.)

Raise your hand if you have ever been personally terrorized inspired by Regina George

High school is just a fleeting moment in time, but Halloween is the one time of the year a girl can dress like Regina George—and no other girl can say anything about it. That's just, like, the rules of feminism.
