How to Dress Like Narcissa Malfoy from Harry Potter

So many wicked witches populate the Harry Potter universe, chief among them Bellatrix Lestrange, but there's one who brings a touch of class to her witchery: Narcissa 'Cissy' Black Malfoy.

Married into money, Narcissa is as pureblood as they come. She takes pride in her stock a little too much, the complete antithesis of her humble sister Andromeda. While she's not as cuckoo for cocoa puffs or overtly murderous as her other sister Bellatrix, she can be very classist and racist, not afraid to thumb her nose down at Muggles. At least you won't ever catch Mrs. Lucius Malfoy in raggedy clothes.

Draco Malfoy's mother is always well put together, as seen on the few scenes she has on the Harry Potter films. The classic Narcissa Malfoy costume is one in which the late actress Helen McCrory wears a fabulous green variation of a blazer dress with long sleeves, rounded shoulders and cinched waist.

Towards the end of the Harry Potter movie series, however, Helen went full-on Death Eater, favoring a form-fitting black cloak embellished with silvery appliqué.

How to do Narcissa Malfoy hair and makeup

J.K. Rowling might have imagined Narcissa as a blonde, but hair designer Lisa Tomblin had other ideas for Helen in the role. Tomblin actually tried various shades of blonde before finally coming up with Helen's now-famous skunk hairstyle.

Here's how you can achieve the two-tone hair if you don't want to opt for a Narcissa Malfoy-like wig:

Narcissa may not be the type to show some skin but she wouldn't want to get caught dead by Voldemort without her Dark Mark either. You can find a temporary Dark Mark tattoo here

What kind of wand does Narcissa Malfoy have?

Now for the finishing touch: a legit Narcissa Malfoy wand. No one knows the core material and wood of her wand, let alone its length, but Harry Potter canon would place its purchase around 1966, when she first came to Hogwarts. A true Narcissa Malfoy wand replica would have a silver-studded handle cover, a mark of her snobbish upbringing.

If the reigning Real Housewife of Malfoy Manor is not your cup of tea, you can always dress up as Helen McCrory's other famous witch character: the evil Evelyn Poole. Accio to that.
